S.O.L.E.

The Student Organization Leadership Experience (S.O.L.E.) at UNC-Chapel Hill is a developmental program designed to equip student organization leaders with the skills, resources, and knowledge needed to successfully manage their organizations. Through workshops, programs, and hands-on learning experiences, participants gain practical tools in event planning, leadership, and organizational management. S.O.L.E. empowers students to enhance their campus involvement while building transferable skills for future success.

In addition to the programs listed below, be sure to check out the S.O.L.E. Center, which provides access to various resources to enhance the experience of Registered Student Organization (RSO) leaders and members.

Student Orgs Webinar Series: Officer Transition

Thursday, April 9, 6pm-7pm

The Officer Transition meeting is meant for all student organizations to receive a refresher on how to maximize Heel Life as they end the academic year. In this webinar, we will cover the most important details when it comes to updating your officers on Heel Life, important information that should be passed down, and ways to ensure a great start to the new 2026-2027 academic year. Attendance will count for CLE credit!

2026 Student Orgs Awards Banquet

Wednesday, April 15, 6pm-8pm, Great Hall of the Carolina Union

Join us to celebrate the accomplishments of student organizations, student leaders, and student organization advisors! We are excited to celebrate the hard work and dedication student organizations have contributed to the Carolina community! We will celebrate on April 15, in the Great Hall of the Carolina Union from 6-8pm. Light refreshments will be served (RSVP Required).

Many student organizations, student leaders, and advisors have been nominated. Awards will be given, but the hard work and contributions will not go unnoticed. Come out to enjoy an evening to highlight what student organizations mean to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill!

Stress Less With Student Orgs

Friday, August 22, 6-9pm in the Carolina Union

Join us to start the year strong and celebrate your role as a student organization leader on campus. There is no limit to the number of exec members that can attend. Instead of the typical conference style, this year’s summit will have the following features:

  • Learn how we plan to elevate your experience as a student org leader with our new events series!
  • Network with campus departments and offices at our resource fair!
  • Receive prizes during our ongoing giveaways during the event! Carolina swag, merch, and funding for events!
  • Get ready for S.O.L.E. Fest with the opportunity to create a new tri-fold for your organization (FREE MATERIALS)!

New Orgs Registration Overview & Webinar

Interested in starting a new organization at UNC Chapel Hill? The new organizations registration process will open on October 1st and last until October 31st! This informative overview will provide students with in-depth information regarding the requirements and process to become a registered student organization on campus. Don’t miss out! Join the Student Organizations Team on September 18th from 6-8pm via Zoom. Registration is required.

First Year Faves – Student Orgs Involvement Fair

September 25, 5pm-8pm outside of Chase Dining Hall

The Student Organizations Team is partnering with Carolina Dining Services to bring a mini involvement fair to the First Year Faves event – outside of Chase Dining Hall on September 25th! We will have 60 organizations tabling between 5pm-8pm. Come check out the delicious dishes during dinner in Chase that evening, and learn more about some of our organizations on campus!

Maximizing Allocations Webinar

The Undergraduate Student Senate provides funding allocations for organizations at Carolina! If your organization received funding and you want to hear more about how to maximize your allocations, join us for this webinar featuring a representative from the Carolina Business Office. For Registered Student Organizations on campus, Carolina Student Legal Services can assist when it comes to EIN applications, risk management questions, and more! S.O.L.E Fest: Spring Edition 2026 will offer in-person tabling opportunities each day for new and returning students to create connections with student
organizations. Registered student organizations will have a chance to promote their organization and acquire new members! Students who attend
will have the opportunity to learn more organizations and involvement on campus.

Join us February 2nd-4th from 11am-1pm as organizations gather around the Art Gallery, Great Hall, and Great Hall Lobby to showcase their impact on
campus and throughout the community. This year’s event is sponsored by the Carolina Union Activities Board (CUAB), Al’s Burger Shack, Hibachi & Co., and Wings Over Chapel Hill.
