The Pit is about to get loud, colorful, and packed with clipboards!
S.O.L.E. Fest 2026 – short for Student Organization Leadership Experience – is the Fall student organizations involvement fair, kicking off the week of August 24-28, running daily from 11am to 1pm in the Pit and Davis Plaza.
Whether you’re a first-year or transfer student still figuring out where you belong or a returning student looking to try something new, S.O.L.E. Fest is the place for finding your people. With nearly 400 student organizations tabling throughout the week there’s no excuse not to sign a few email lists (or ten).
And yes, there will be free stuff! Expect fresh merch drops and, most importantly, free Pelican’s SnoBalls to keep you cool while you campus-crawl from table to table.
The Weekly Lineup
Different days, different vibes. Here’s what to expect:
- Monday, August 24 – Sports Clubs & Recreation, Performance, Student Government
- Tuesday, August 25 – Faith/Religion, Special Interest
- Wednesday, August 26 – Cultural, Service
- Thursday, August 27 – Academic, Ideology & Politics, Cultural, Service
- Friday, August 28 – Academic, Media, Fraternities & Sororities
Come back multiple days – each one brings a totally new set of orgs to meet.

With over 1,000 student organizations at Carolina, the Pit can only hold so many at once. If your niche interest didn’t make the week’s schedule, head to heellife.unc.edu/organizations to search for a community that matters to you. Chances are, it already exists!
