About the Center
The Center provides access to various resources to enhance the experience of Registered Student Organization (RSO) leaders and members, including:
- The Creative Zone for in-house use of art supplies
- The Leadership Lounge, which includes a conference table and dry-erase boards (available on a first-come, first-served basis during Center hours)
- The Media Lab for recording material related to an RSO (reservation required)
- The Wellness Space, a low-sensory room that encourages calmness and relaxation (available on a first-come, first-served basis during Center hours)
- The Resource Hub, offering equipment for use at RSO events (reservation required; see Reservable Equipment document below for list of available items)
Center staff can assist with questions regarding such topics as:
- The University registration process
- Using Heel Life
- Officer transition
- Navigating campus resources
- University policies

Center Policies
ELIGIBILITY FOR CENTER USE
Only officers and members of current Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) may utilize the space and amenities of the S.O.L.E. Center. Reservations for equipment and for use of the Media Lab must be submitted by an officer listed on the group’s Heel Life page.
USE OF THE CREATIVE ZONE
- Use of the Creative Zone is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The art supplies and tools must remain in the Creative Zone at all times.
- No food or drink is allowed in the Creative Zone.
- For button maker materials, please inquire with the Center Staff on duty.
- Groups may make up to five (5) buttons free of charge per semester.
- Individuals using the button maker must review the tutorial video first.
- Groups may have one (1) free tri-fold per year.
- If any material is running low, please alert Center Staff.
- Individuals are responsible for cleaning up after themselves in the Creative Zone.
CHECKING OUT RESERVABLE EQUIPMENT
The Resource Hub contains various items available for checkout by Registered Student Organizations (RSOs).
ELIGIBILITY
- To utilize Center resources, the group must be a Registered Student Organization (RSO) and have an updated roster on Heel Life. Only officers listed on the RSO’s Heel Life page may reserve items.
- Non-students, departments, advisors, or alumni are not allowed to check out items.
CHECKOUT PROCESS
- A S.O.L.E. Center Equipment Reservation Form must be submitted at least five (5) business days before any items are needed. Item reservations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Submissions received less than five (5) business days before the event may not be accommodated. A link to the Heel Life posting for the event the equipment will be used for must be included on the Form.
- A complete list of items available for checkout can be found on the S.O.L.E. Center website.
- You may select up to 2 (two) resources for check-out per reservation. Groups may only have one active reservation at a time. Limit of four (4) reservations per group per semester.
- The S.O.L.E. Center team will review and process if able based on availability.
- Items will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Items may be reserved for no more than two (2) days at a time.
- The RSO representative noted on the Reservation Form must come to the Center to pick up the equipment during designated hours.
- The RSO shall keep and maintain the equipment during the dates of reservation.
- Items must be returned by the date specified on the Reservation Form.
- Returns must take place during designated hours; items may not be left unattended outside of the Center.
- Items will be examined prior to the reservation pick-up and upon return.
- No additional checkouts can be made until current reservation is complete.
CANCELLATIONS
- Groups are expected to honor their existing reservations.
- If a reservation must be cancelled, Center Staff must be notified by email to [email protected] no less than 48 hours prior to the start of the reservation.
DISCLAIMER
- The borrowing RSO agrees to accept financial responsibility for any lost or damaged items.
- Items must not be left unattended for any reason.
- Items may not be shared or loaned to anyone else. Only the borrowing RSO will be held responsible for the condition of the item and any accessories.
- The S.O.L.E. Center is not responsible for any damage done to the borrower’s personal equipment nor loss of any data that may occur.
PENALTIES
- Misuse or repeated loss or damage may result in a suspension of reservation privileges.
- If a group fails to show for their scheduled reservation, a warning will be issued. Repeated no-shows will result in loss of access to future reservations.
- Fees will be charged to the RSO if the item is turned in after the specified due date or if the item is lost, stolen, or damaged upon return.
- Late fees will be imposed according to the value of the item checked out.
- Items valued $1-$50 will be fined $5 per day.
- Items valued $51-$250 will be fined $10 per day.
- Items valued over $251 will be fined $25 per day.
- Items not returned within three (3) days will be considered lost, and the organization will be responsible for the late fees AND the replacement cost of the item.
- The cost for any item that is lost, stolen, or damaged will be the actual replacement or repair cost of the item.
- The RSO will be invoiced for any late fees or replacement costs. No other reservations, new or scheduled, will be allowed until the invoice has been paid.

RESERVING THE MEDIA LAB
The Media Lab may be reserved by Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) for the purpose of recording RSO-related content.
ELIGIBILITY
- To utilize S.O.L.E. Center space and resources, the group must be a Registered Student Organization (RSO) and have an updated roster on Heel Life. Only officers listed on the RSO’s Heel Life page may reserve space or items.
- Non-students, departments, advisors, or alumni are not allowed to reserve space in the Center.
MEDIA LAB RESERVATION PROCESS
- A S.O.L.E. Center Media Lab Reservation Form must be submitted at least five (5) business days before the requested reservation session. Reservations are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Submissions received less than five (5) business days before the requested session may not be accommodated.
- The S.O.L.E. Center team will review and process if able based on availability.
- The space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The space must be used for the production of media for a Registered Student Organization. The space may not be used to produce media for personal use.
- There is a two-hour limit per session for the use of the lab.
- Groups may reserve the lab up to four (4) times per semester.
- We recommend that groups come prepared to utilize the space to the fullest. You may contact the Center Staff to arrange a preview of the space before your booking.
- The group must comply with the posted maximum number of occupants at any one time in the room.
- No food or drink is allowed in the Media Lab.
- The room is not intended for professional studio productions, external commercial activity, or potentially hazardous activities (e.g., rapidly flashing lights, fog machines, liquids, open flame).
- Groups are responsible for securing any necessary rights to music or imagery used in their productions.
- The room should be left in the same condition and configuration in which it was found at the start of the session.
- Groups must check out with Center Staff at the end of their session.
USE OF GREEN SCREEN WALL
- Do not touch the wall with dirty or oily hands
- Do not lean on the wall
- Do not pin or tape items to the wall
- Users should ensure even lighting to avoid shadows (Center Staff may assist)
- Report damage or stains to Center Staff immediately
- Do not use props that can damage or stain the wall (paint, markers, water, powder, plants with soil, etc.)
SOUND EXPECTATIONS
- The lab is not soundproof; users should keep noise at reasonable recording levels
- No music playback loud enough to disturb surrounding offices or meeting rooms
- No shouting, singing groups, or instruments unless specifically approved
DISCLAIMER
- All RSO property that was brought to the space must be removed at the end of the session. The Center will not store items. Any items left by the RSO will be recycled as appropriate or discarded.
- The S.O.L.E. Center is not responsible for any damage done to the user’s personal equipment nor loss of any data that may occur during the use of the space.

USE OF THE LEADERSHIP LOUNGE
The Leadership Lounge is available for use on a first-come, first-served basis during Center hours.
- The lounge must be used for business related to a Registered Student Organization (RSO). The space is not for personal use.
- For use of the lounge, at least five (5) members of the RSO must be present.
- Groups may share the lounge for collaboration sessions.
- Lounge use is limited to one (1) hour when other groups are waiting.
- The group must clear and clean the table and surrounding area after use.
- Damage to the table or space or failure to clean up the area will result in repair or cleaning costs and a suspension of reservation privileges.
USE OF THE WELLNESS SPACE
The Wellness Space is intended to promote stress reduction. As such, the goal is to offer a calm and relaxing environment. Please refrain from any of the following activities that could potentially distract from the serenity of this environment, including:
• Eating and drinking
• Use of electronic devices (laptops, cell phones, tablets, speakers/sound systems, etc.)
• Photography
• Excessive noise and conversation
• Use of candles, incense, or any open/closed flame
Academic study, group meetings, and any other activity that conflicts with the intended use of the space is prohibited.
Please return all items to their original locations and remember to take your belongings as you exit the space. Personal items of any sort may not be left in the room.
Use of the space is limited to three (3) persons at a time.
CONDUCT EXPECTATIONS
The S.O.L.E. Center exists to enhance the experience of Registered Student Organization (RSO) officers and members. Patrons must conduct themselves in a manner that allows all visitors and staff to enjoy an energetic yet peaceful and productive environment. Individuals and/or organizations may be asked to leave the Center if they do not respect the space and available resources or violate any of the Center policies. For repeat or egregious offenses, individuals and/or organizations may be banned form the Center. Conduct that violates the Student Conduct Policy will be reported to the Office of Student Conduct.
ACCESSIBILITY
All persons are welcome to utilize the S.O.L.E. Center, regardless of age, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran status.
Visitors with specific accessibility needs are encouraged to contact the Center Staff with details of their request. Staff will work to accommodate all reasonable requests. Requests may be made in person at the Center or by emailing [email protected].
SUSTAINABILITY
The S.O.L.E. Center is committed to exercising sustainable practices throughout the Center.
- Visitors are asked to use only the amount of supplies necessary to achieve their goal. Groups should not waste supplies.
- There is a collection box for partial pieces of paper and magazines that can be utilized in future art projects.
- Visitors should use the designated recycle bins for all recyclable items. If a group is not sure what is recyclable they should consult Center Staff.
Organizations that will be cleaning out for the semester or have art supplies/tools they no longer need will be encouraged to contact the S.O.L.E. Center Staff to discuss donating those items to the Center for other RSOs to use.
