The Carolina Union is home to two performance venues that are a perfect fit for your next information fair, banquet, ceremony, and more. Please refer below for more information and photos of the large-scale spaces we offer.

The Auditorium

A state-of-the-art venue, right in the heart of campus! The Auditorium features modern lighting and sound systems, laser projection to large main and side screens, and customizable seating that accommodates 293-397 people. This also includes the use of our Auditorium Lobby, offering the perfect spot for pre- or post-event receptions.

The Great Hall

Capacity: 626 seated; 700 standing

The Great Hall is the largest reservable space in the Carolina Union, with customizable seating that accommodates up to 626 people. A new laser projector, a fully integrated sound system, and professional-quality lighting make the Great Hall the perfect venue for large events and performances. Included in reservations of this space is the Great Hall Lobby, a beautiful space adjacent to the Hall that can be arranged to fit your event needs.

Best For: Banquets; Blood-drives; Conferences; Info-fairs; Receptions; Performances; Fashion Shows; Keynote Speakers

Notes: Each client is limited to one weekend day (5 PM Friday – 11 PM Sunday) per semester, with a total of 10 days per semester (9 weekdays and 1 weekend day). If the Great Hall is available thirty days prior to a date, clients are given the first opportunity to reserve the hall for an additional weekend day

EVENT TIERS 

Performance Venue reservations are categorized into three tiers. Please refer below for tier descriptions and rental rates. Our package pricing now includes labor, event-related equipment, and furniture. Estimates are provided based on expected headcount. Final invoices are based on actual headcount and may change the tier of the event. Visit our reservations and policy page for more information about usage guidelines.

Tier 1 Event: Attendance – 150 or less
