Every gathering is unique and we’re here to help with all the details, big and small, that will make your event perfect. We provide the services and equipment rentals listed below. Contact our Event Services office to determine the best fit for your event.

Standard Services

Event Services strives to provide an exceptional experience during your time in the Carolina Union. To get you started, here is what we provide to all our Carolina Union Guests.

  • Staffed Welcome Desk to direct visitors and assists with client needs
  • Scheduling rooms and event spaces in and around the Union
  • Regular space sanitation, including before and after reservations
  • Room and building directional signage
  • Appreciation program for client organizations
  • Event design and production consultation

Event Staff

The following Event Services teams support all event in our large event venues (Great Hall and Union Auditorium). Staff are assigned to other venues on a as needed basis depending on the nature of the event and expected attendee count. All staff are assigned for a minimum of 2-hours of support. Chat with your Event Manager or Reservation Scheduler about your event needs to ensure we can assist you.  

Guest Relations

  • These staff members are here to support the success of your event in the following ways:
    • Distributing information to guest
    • Seating guest
    • Answering attendee questions 
    • Requesting setup changes
    • Assisting with decorating, ticket scanning or OneCard scanning.
  • Guest Relations staff are not permitted to assist with load-in/out from client cars, serve food/beverages, advertise your event in exterior spaces.

Rental Services

Event Services offers three types of easy to use self-service rentals for your event needs on campus (General Purpose Classrooms, Polk Place, Road Races, etc.) or off-campus. The following items are available to reserve for 24-hour increments.

  • Requests for rental equipment must be made at least two (2) business days in advance via the 25Live scheduling system or email to eventservices@unc.edu. Request received under two business days may be charged a late fee or denied.   
  • There is a minimum $25 charge on all rental requests.  
  • The Office of Event Services does not deliver any equipment.  
  • All rental equipment must be picked up and returned to the Carolina Union.

Event Marketing Add-Ons

Groups can add a marketing package to their event reservation that includes printed and digital flyers for their event. All services must be added no less than 2 weeks from the event date.
