Nestled in the Pit, the heart of student activities and events, the Carolina Union will be bringing even more energy through our signature event, Pepsi in the Pit on September 5th.
Since spring 2025, the Carolina Union has partnered with Pepsi every Friday for Pepsi in the Pit—a giveaway event where students can earn free Pepsi products and Carolina Union swag items. Throughout the year, the Carolina Union hosts these special events designed with students in mind. Pepsi in the Pit is all about making student life brighter. Whether it’s a mid-lecture pick-me-up or a case of drinks to get you through finals, Pepsi in the Pit is there to make Fridays better, and it’s a chance to enjoy something free while connecting with your peers.
More than just a giveaway, Pepsi in the Pit serves to create a shared experience on UNC’s campus. Partnerships like Pepsi in the Pit help transform the university into a vibrant hub where students, faculty, and the larger community can come together. The Pit is one of the few places where first years, seniors, grad students, and everyone in between come together to enjoy being a Tar Heel.
The Pepsi in the Pit grand opening is this Friday, September 5th, and it is going to be one of our biggest giveaways yet – featuring lots of free items for Tar Heels. From drinks and snacks to branded gear and stuff you never knew you needed, there will be loads of options to choose from, so make sure to bring a friend, take a study break, or stop by on the way to your next class. Products go fast, so make a plan to get there early!
