Sage is a student from Waxhaw, North Carolina, majoring in Health Policy & Management as an assured admit student at Gillings School of Global Public Health. She is committed to advancing health equity by addressing structural barriers limiting access to care for underserved populations. On campus, Sage researches barriers to Medicaid and Medicare enrollment among unhoused individuals in Orange County, addressing systemic gaps in healthcare access. She is a Carolina Diplomacy Fellow and Parr Center for Ethics Ambassador, engaging in conversations on global policy, ethics, and international engagement, and is a member of the 2026 Washington Week cohort in Washington, D.C. Sage has clinical experience as a medical intern for Novant Health, supporting patient care and developing trauma-informed responses through work with vulnerable populations. Outside the classroom, she is a swim instructor and enjoys the outdoors, having earned Junior Ranger status in over 30 national parks and visited 48 states.
