Rachael Henske is from North Potomac, Maryland, and is a freshman currently studying public health and biology. In 2024, she founded Honor Their Stories, an online project dedicated to spreading awareness about the challenges veterans face, and in 2026, launched Operation Pen and Purpose with the Combat Veterans of America to foster connection between students and local veterans. At UNC, Rachael serves on the Vice Chancellor for Student Success’ OneStop Committee, Student Conduct Board, ENLACES Volunteer Corps, and the staff board for TAPS at Carolina. In her free time, she enjoys long-distance running, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.
