Melike Erim, originally from Istanbul, Turkey, is a member of the North Carolina Fellows Class of 2028. Melike is planning to major in biomedical engineering and pursue a minor in business. She has been involved with volunteer work since her high school years, actively working to promote health and education equity. Melike is currently serving as a Wet Lab and Experimental Design team member of UNC iGEM. She is also a volunteer teaching assistant for Girls Who Code at UNC. She is excited to take her role in the Events Committee of the Well Empowered Women at UNC and start working as an Office assistant in the Kenan Community in the upcoming year. In the future she hopes to pursue medical or graduate school and continue being involved in biomedical research.
