Kennedy Jones , a proud member of the Lumbee Tribe from Pembroke, North Carolina, is a freshman passionate about both science and the arts. Kennedy is a member of the a cappella group Loreleis, using music as a way to build community and express themselves. To date , she serves as Vice President of Alpha Pi Omega and as Powwow Chair for the Carolina Indian Circle, where they organize cultural events that celebrate and uplift Native communities. She also volunteered in the Pediatric Playroom with pediatric patients at the UNC hospital. Academically, Kennedy is pursuing a path in biology with a double major in American Indian and Indigenous Studies and aspires to become a pediatrician , with the goal of serving underserved and rural populations while creating meaningful, lasting impact.
