The Carolina Union Activities Board presents the 2nd annual Jubilee Concert on April 16 at 8:30 pm in the Carmichael Arena. This year, country music star, Chase Rice, will be returning to his alma mater to headline this year’s concert. The Carolina community is invited to attend.

Chase Rice is a 2008 UNC alumnus and former linebacker for the football team. He started his professional musical career after competing on season 21 of the TV show, Survivor, in 2010. He co-wrote Florida Georgia Line’s hit single “Cruise.” In 2014, his album, Ignite the Night, debuted as No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and No. 3 on the all-genre chart. He is currently nominated for ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year and is preparing to release a new album this year. While being primarily country, he has an edgy sound with some electro and hip-hop influences in his songs. He is known for his energetic stage presence at concerts.

The Jubilee concert was originally started in 1963 to mark the end of the spring semester. The yearly tradition ended in 1979, but CUAB brought it back last year in hopes to continue the musical celebration. Everyone is encouraged to attend this year’s concert and support a fellow Tar Heel and talented artist.

Presented by Carolina Union Activities Board in collaboration with Chase Rice. Tickets may be purchased here.
