Ona is a sophomore from Montgomery County, MD majoring in public policy and economics and minoring in sustainability. Ona is passionate about service and policy regarding economic mobility and environmental justice. She is motivated by the question of how to effectively use capital, resources, and political power to improve societal outcomes. At UNC, Ona serves on the Student Advisory Board of the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid, is the treasurer of Build U.P. (UNC’s urban planning club), and currently works as a research assistant with the Carolina Population Center. She enjoys spending time in nature, dancing, crocheting, and reading.
