Whether you’re a first-year student finding lifelong friends or a senior creating one last memory, FallFest kicks off each academic year with a celebration of Carolina spirit that welcomes all students back to campus. Featuring live music and performances, lots of food, interactive activities, and freebie to help students start their Carolina Blue gear collection, FallFest helps students discover what makes being a Tar Heel great.

When Friday rolls around, there’s no better way to kick off the weekend than with Pepsi in the Pit. This fun, laid-back event brings students together for free Pepsi products, tasty snacks, and the kind of good weekend vibes that make you forget about Monday (but don’t miss class!).

Pepsi in the Pit is all about celebrating the end of another week at Carolina. Whether you’re grabbing a quick refreshment on your way to class or hanging out with friends as you plan your weekend, this casual gathering captures that Friday feeling we all love. It’s simple, it’s fun, and it’s exactly what you need to start your weekend right.

When the stress of classes, internships, and life in general starts to feel overwhelming, the Carolina Union is here for you with Treat Yo Self. This wellness-focused event series is designed to help you recharge, refocus, and remember that self-care isn’t selfish.

Each Treat Yo Self event features a theme that meets students exactly where they are in their academic journey. From celebrating all things “autumn” to encouraging mindfulness during the chaos of midterms, these events offer the perfect opportunity to pause, breathe, and take a moment out of your busy day to treat yo self.

Every January, the Carolina Union throws the ultimate birthday party, and you’re invited! Birthday Bash is our annual celebration that recognizes the opening of the Carolina Union and takes a nostalgic look at the Union and student life through the decades, complete with throwback vibes and plenty of reasons to party.

This isn’t your typical birthday celebration as each Birthday Bash has its own personality and surprises. Whether we’re channeling the groovy ’70s, the neon ’80s, or the grunge ’90s, you can expect themed decorations, music that’ll transport you back in time, and enough cake to feed (almost) the entire campus.

The Chancellor’s Awards represent the pinnacle of recognition for outstanding achievement within the Carolina community. The ceremony and reception recognize students, faculty, and staff members who have made exceptional contributions to campus life, academic excellence, and service to others.
