Carolina Union and Community Service

The staff in the Carolina Union have been participating in a program called JEDI which stands for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

This program was created by Dr. Bobby Kunstman, Director of Student Life and Leadership.  It was created in response to the racial unrest during the summer of 2020.  This past year, the Carolina Union staff participated in committees around JEDI.  One of the committees focused on community service.  The goal of this committee was to incorporate community service as part of the All-Staff Retreat.  This year, the All-Staff Retreat was with Habitat for Humanity.  On August 4th, we went to Hillsborough to help build a house for a family in need.  On August 5th, we met and reflected on our experience working on a Habitat for Humanity house.  The staff had a great day knowing they were helping a family in need.  We will be doing more community service over the next year.  Please take a look at the pictures form our day with Habitat for Humanity.
