Feasibility Study

Help Us Conceptualize the Future of the FPG Student Union and Student Life on Campus!

June 14, 2016 Mass Email to the Carolina Community

It is with much enthusiasm that we share information regarding the Carolina Union Feasibility Study. The project includes an extensive exploration into the functionality of the current FPG Student Union facility and student life at UNC-Chapel Hill. The study is designed to identify the needs of the Carolina community and evaluate areas of improvement using focus groups, user interviews, surveys, and extensive benchmark research.

The effort is being led by our Carolina Union Board of Directors (BOD), which is comprised almost entirely of student representatives from across campus. Under the leadership of this group, we will coordinate opportunities for engagement for all graduate, professional, and undergraduate students, as well as faculty and staff members. The results of this study will contribute to the ongoing University master planning efforts and will assist in the visioning of an improved FPG Student Union.

The initial Feasibility Study Kick-Off Meeting with the selected design firm, Vines Architecture of Raleigh, recently took place and we’re thrilled to get started. Moving forward, we will be sending out regular communication pertaining to opportunities for engagement. If you’d like more information about the study, follow us on Twitter (@CarolinaUnion), Facebook (FPG.StudentUnion), and Instagram (@CarolinaUnion). Additionally, sign up for future updates by emailing UNCunionideas@unc.edu.

We hope you will take the time to participate in this very important project for both the Carolina Union and student life on campus.

We value your input and look forward to working with you on this project!
