Events Management


The Office of Events Management is responsible for helping student organizations, UNC departments and affiliates, and external clients schedule and produce over 16,000 reservations annually. The departments listed below work together to provide a seamless event experience from start to finish.

This department facilitates the planning and implementation of meetings and events held in the FPG Student Union and approximately 50% of all reservable space on campus. Staff schedules meetings and events and coordinates with other campus entities to ensure safe usage of campus spaces in line with University policy and state law. Events Management is also responsible for billing and invoicing in collaboration with the Carolina Union’s business office.

Production Services

This department works with clients to ensure successful event preparation and logistics. The technical staff is responsible for lighting, sound, and stage management support for campus events, while house staff acts as ushers and provides crowd management services, ensuring proper facilities use.

Box Office

This department provides ticketing and admission services for events booked through the Office of Events Management. Services include a dedicated box office for ticket sales, on-site event sales as well as tickets and wristbands for organizational distribution.


This department provides customer service and building support for all Carolina Union guests and events. The staff is responsible for opening and closing the facility, and maintaining the physical appearance of the Union. The staff also monitors daily events in and around the Union and SASB and is responsible for the setup of over 10,000 meetings annually in the Union and SASB.

Information Services

This department facilitates office key distribution and security, equipment pick up, reservation check-in and out, and solicitation table assignments. Information Services manages the Union’s lost and found and mail distribution, and is responsible for greeting guests, answering telephones, and providing general information for the campus community and guests of UNC.  They also manage CUBE reservations and paint cart check-outs.
